My top 5 wardrobe essentials

My top 5 wardrobe essentials

I am not even joking when I tell you guys I am a shopping addict. To the point where I have to hide my parcels from my mum because I buy that much stuff. I wouldn’t really say I have a certain style, and definitely wouldn’t say I’m fashionable, or glamorous. My outfits usually look like a rainbow has thrown up on me, or like I have just got out of bed. I am sorry, but there is no better feeling that buying a new outfit and wearing it for the first time. No amount of boys can make you feel that way babes, sorry to break it to you.

Because I own so many items of clothing, this post is going to be super hard for me to even narrow down, but hopefully you guys will like it.

The Jacket Edit

I’m sorry but if you don’t own a denim jacket then who are you. (Kinda rude, I’m sorry.) I own two or three jackets that I love. One of them, is my mum’s jacket that she had when she was pregnant with me, and I now have it because I love it. I love an over-sized jacket, it’s super comfy.

The second one I own is my babe. It’s an old vintage Levis one that I got for £35 from a vintage shop in Cambridge and I love it. I have recently put loads of Skinny Dip pins on it, and I think I am going to put some iron on patches on it too, which will look super cute.

The Trainer Edit

Shoes are probably the most exciting thing to buy, sorry not sorry. I would say about 805 of my shoes are trainers, and I seem to own about a million pairs of converse, and vans. The best things about trainers is that is now socially acceptable to wear trainers on a night out, and even wear them with a dress (Yes I have done that many, many times.) I once even got my friends to take me home, so I could change into my Vans before we went out. (Some say tragic, I say smart). So I think everyone needs to own more trainers, especially ugly ones. You know, the big bulky old school trainers that you parents would of probably worn in the 80’s.

The T-shirt Edit

Slogan Tee’s seem to be a thing at the moment and I love them. I probably own 70% of the Topshop one’s which are super cute, and think that maybe I should stop buying more. The reason I love them so much is just because you can dress them up or down. You could literally put them with a pair of trackies whilst watching TV, or wear them with a leather skirt on a night out.

If you are like me and find it extremely difficult to know what to wear on a night out. I don’t want to be cold, or my feet to hurt, but I also don’t want to look like i’m just going to Nando’s and it’s just a struggle. Everyone needs at least one slogan tee in their life.

The Jean Edit

This is no joke, but I never ever use to wear jeans. Up until I was around 15 I would refuse to wear jeans because I hated them so much. I found them uncomfortable, and that they didn’t fit properly. And still now I am not the biggest fan of wearing them. I have found that jeans can make or break an outfit, so everyone should do their research before purchasing them. I can’t even count the amount of times that I have bought jeans and they just haven’t fitted. I find that ASOS jeans fit really well, and so do Topshop, but most places now you are able to just send them back.

The Bag Edit

Here’s something that baffles me. Why don’t boys ever carry a bag around with them? Honestly how do they carry everything they own in their pockets? I love having bags to chose from, and my parent’s would probably say I have enough bags, which isn’t true. I also love the fact that rucksacks are making a comeback, because at school everyone had a handbag, and I always found that they’d break or hurt my shoulder. Nothing a good rucksack can’t fix.

So here you go, I hope you guys have enjoyed this post.

Love ya

Boys somehow fitting all their belongings into their pockets baffle me too. Like… why? Also how lucky are you to have pockets that actually FIT your phone.

Also great post. I agree with everything!

I’m the opposite of you in most ways I think! I only wear jeans even though I’m 63 (did I mention you are young, I am old?), I hate shopping, and I recently purged my closets and got rid of five bags of clothes that I didn’t like at all. But having said that, I thought your post was pretty good, well written and interesting. I can only suggest one thing, a topic idea for you, the clothes-aholic! Do a post on perfect closets or something along those lines. I’m sure you day dream about having one of those one day to put all your lovely, fun clothes in.

Definitely some good staples here! I’ve recently become obsessed with buying Nike sneakers and bought three new pairs while traveling America (doesn’t seem like much but I also bought two pairs of converse and some flats so six new pairs of shoes when living out of a suitcase for 5 months doesn’t seem very smart haha). Thanks for sharing!

I love trainers and a good baggy top / jumper. That and some comfy leggings and that’s me for – well ever lol. I have to admit that I hadn’t had a denim jacket for a very long time until recently when I bought one from Boohoo which was giving me Coachella vibes! I used to be the same in terms of shopping but calmed down immensely in the last few months, but can definitely relate! Great post, thanks for sharing! x
