Happy 6 month birthday to me. As if it has been 6 months since I started this site. I was worried that I would get swallowed up in the big wide world of blogging and not use it. However, I have managed to keep posting, and I try and post once a week (if I can remember), and it has worked.
I’ve learnt quite a few things from having this blog. To start with, I feel very lucky to have a voice and be able to talk about topics that need to be talked about. I love writing and even if no-one viewed my blog I would still continue to write on it.
When I launched this site, I was just about to start a new job as a trainee reporter at a newspaper. Six month in and I am still loving it, and enjoy coming to work everyday. I have learnt so much whilst doing the job for the past half a year and really hope that I can continue to grow as a journalist. I have written about the perks of my job here and also the negatives (because there are some). Life has thrown a few things at me this year, but overall I feel like the start of 2018 has been pretty kind to me. Focusing on myself, I’m not quite where I want to be but I know that I will get there very soon.
Looking back at my ‘one month in‘ post I had obviously set myself some goals to achieve this year. One of them being Youtube. Firstly, You-tube is actually really hard. I have only done one vlog but hopefully I can continue to do more, as I really feel like it’s something I will enjoy doing. Not only that but I finally hit 1,000 Instagram followers, which has been so difficult. Since all the new Instagram changes I have found it so hard to even begin to try and get my uploads noticed.
Honestly, never did I think I would have the opportunity to work with so many different brands already. I feel super lucky to be approached by so many brands wanting to work with me. It’s been really exciting to explore different ways I can work with brands and I’m so excited for more work that I have lined up.
Oh my lord. I went to my first ever blogger event. I won’t lie to you, I was terrified. It was the strangest feeling turning up and people knowing who you are and wanting to help you. I had such an amazing time at Queensgage Sprung event and I cannot wait for the next opportunity I get.
Reflecting on the past six months just makes me realise how much hard work does pay off. I am always looking for ways to update my site and write better content, and I have promised myself that I won’t put myself down for bad content as you are always developing.
